Hello! I hope this spring week is perfect for you! Today I am wearing a quilted skirt, in a rope pattern, somewhat nautically inspired, with a crisp white shirt. I think wearing a skirt with special details like this quilted skirt, looks best when paired with a classic white shirt in crisp poplin.
Since this skirt has both pattern and texture, I felt a simple and clean white shirt would be best. I then added some red accents with my alligator bracelet and ankle strap shoes. I chose a simple navy tote.
It was a glorious day with plenty of sunshine, so I wore new sunnies from H&M. I loved being outdoors amongst the flowering dogwoods and tulips! I have a winter quilted skirt in leather that I styled in a similar way, with the same philosophy of balance and good composition. I work towards that in my wardrobe and in my home. You all know I love to mix patterns, but pattern AND textures can be tricky.
Part of the charm of this quilted skirt is that it was edged in grosgrain ribbon. I chose to knot my skirt at the waist so this detail could be seen. I know this texture can be a bit challenging as sometimes a quilted skirt can have bulk, but this one, in silk, was lightweight. Do you have a favorite skirt? I wonder, too, would you choose a quilted one or do you shy away from this texture?
