Another gift of a sunny day and I am strolling in my neighborhood, wearing my pleated dress. This one is bold, and recalls awning stripes, or the striped umbrellas planted firmly in the sand and sheltering happy beachgoers. Pleated dresses can be hard to wear but this one has nice vertical stripes that lengthen. It is made of cotton lawn and is lightweight and crisp. This pleated dress is perfect for spring or summer, as it is sleeveless. It was simple to style, because this piece stands on its own, so no pattern mixing here; just a chunky statement necklace and my studded pumps by Leuven Alexander.
I was glad to see a storefront on my block that mirrored this stripe for a interesting backdrop.
My patent leather bag was a yard sale find, and my pleated dress was thrifted on Long Island! I am a happy bargainista today. The dress is by Tommy Hilfiger, and feel like a classic Hmaptons staple. A few more errands and I am off to East Hampton for the weekend ( and more clothes shopping?)
