Mid week salutations! With a long weekend ahead of us in the US, there is plenty of pent up demand for sun and R & R. I am on the rooftop garden today, wearing mixed stripes and mint toes. What better way to celebrate what is almost here: the official start to the summer! A peek at my mixed stripes.
Another glorious day is upon us in New York, although there is a bit of wind from up here:
You may remember my striped dress that I wore weeks ago, with a half sleeve fur coat, to protect against the chill of a crisp spring evening. The dress is by UK2LA and is a comfy, sleeveless number that I know will see alot of wear. My little clutch you may remember as well from Century 21, designed by Badgley Mischka. I like my trench in larger stripes with this emsemble, as I rarely do a single color story, but with mixed stripes, this seemed easiet on the eye. There is alot of visual interest in a mixed stripe ensemble, so adding color would be a detriment. The black hat also has 12 rows of white top-stitching; black and white galore!
The exception to that is the bit of yellow in my stilletos, and the flash of mint from my toes. Shoes by Charles David and polish by Essie.
Yes, there too is a bit of gold from the clutch, and a bit of red from the back of the heel, but other than that, this is sleekly black and white. Here is a shot where some pink flowers add some zest.
While I am 34 floors above ground, there is still a taller building behind me eclipsing the sun from this side of the deck. ( only in NY, and Tokyo, and....) So please excuse the graininess, but I had to add the lovely flowers!
Here is a close up of my bag and some bracelets from STA In NYC. My rings are from Cupid, via my husband's wallet. ;)
My nail polish is Chanel "Frenzy" and seems to mirror all of the activity down below, as people are rushing to and fro in super- speedy NY style. Indeed, I will be one of them in just a few minutes, with errands to run, and a weekend escape to prepare for.
