Happy Weekend my lovely readers! I hope this is a relaxing and peaceful time. Here in New York, it feels like Spring with mild weather and flowers everywhere I turn . Yes, it is true, even in Manhattan! On my way to pick out a new sofa , I am wearing a floral blouse that you saw once with a broken stripe skirt. Here it is with white jeans:
Since the floral pattern is so bold, I wanted to pare it down with simple white, and added a deep indigo reptile bag, with a lovely whip-stitched border. I love this clutch, it is oversized, supple, and unstructured; very different from the ones you have seen me wear. In this one, I can carry my make up and a newspaper! Did someone say capacious?
I am outside, a mere block away from several furniture stores and in the heart of the design district. Lucky me, I live right here, so furnishing my new place is going quickly! ( just ask my credit card!) The full outfit: see the flowers?
This close up gives you better details. It is funny how one minute the sky is gray and the light is hazy, and the next the light is clear. So here is a clear photo, thank you Mother Nature!
I hope you can see the pretty floral blouse from J.Crew. It is a bold and abstract hydrangea print, a refreshing choice for a floral blouse. I am wearing two bracelets, the floral one is vintage and from STA in New York's Upper West Side. The leather one, with the bronze ring is a new favorite designed by Andrianna Shamaris who also designs organic furniture from exotic locales. Check out this photo of her in her Southampton Store, which has beautifully crafted furnishings, wearing the same bracelet. I love her simple look, and chic urban vibe: ( photo credit to Scott Wintrow and published in Architectural Digest)-
Here is another photo where you can see the bracelet. I love its organic simplicity, but it is a bit big, so I Have to pair it with something chunky until I can get it made smaller.( on my ever-expanding to-do list...)
A floral blouse is not something I often choose to wear for a casual summer afternoon, I would normally opt for a floral tee, or sundress, or striped tee, for that matter. But this blouse from J. Crew is perfect, it has the best hand ( professional term for the feel of the garment) and is the perfect length for a tunic. I could wear it over a bikini which I seldom do. It looks great knotted over high waist shorts and skirts.
So I close with a question. Make that two. Are you wearing florals this season, and if so, what are your favorites? Two- Is it possible to furnish a 2 bedroom apartment in 6 weeks? The answer to that question will be obvious soon.
