Hello my lovelies!I hope this week, where the weather is transitioning, is treating you well. I am wearing light layers with a fall palette in mind.
This was taken last week when there was a coolish day followed by several warm ones. I was happy to pull out, and wear my burgundy skirt. I love the silk chiffon, it feels light and invisible, lots of color, but only a whisper of weight. it is made By Salaam! and was thrifted in Long Island with proceeds going to battered women. My silk blouse came from there also, it has precious bow detail in pearls that you will see in another post, but I added it to this outfit purely for its peach tone and ribbed texture. The designer is Pim Sukhauta for Stretsus, a European brand. The jacket is also thrifted, so all three light layers were bargains, scooped up in Long Island.
The jacket has an embroidered label that is so elaborate it is hard to see the designer's name. But it is beautifully crafted and has silver square studs, covered in white silk organza to compliment the white cropped jacket. You can see it better in the following photo.
My shoes were not thrifted, but were purchased on a flash sale sight, called MyHabit.com. What fun I had with the extra height from these platforms by GOmax. You can see them best here:
You can also see my crocodile bag in a rich honeyed cognac color. Now I am hungry and thirsty.. This bag was made in Italy, and is one of the expensive treats that I do indulge in. Very occasionally, I will part with some real money for something that I will love for decades, and can possibly be handed down to the next generation. My Hermes bags, and this, fall into that category. I do try to buy these second-hand, as well, and these are good investments for me too. Once I sold an Hermes Kelly in snake skin and made enough to furnish my last apartment. So, sometimes what seem to be indulgences, are often good investments, too, if one is willing to part with something so yummy. I was!
More photos of me on the roof, enjoying the flowers and sky, and wearing light layers for fall. I liked combining the burgundy, which has a some blue-red tones, with the peach and cognac, that is much warmer. I liked the contrast as well as the texture. I hope you do, too. The light layers were perfect for this sunny, but breezy day.
My vintage bracelet is pictured here. It is sapphire and diamond from Manhattan Art and Antiques and Victorian. It is so small and fit me well! The leather bracelet was featured in a prior post, Flowers Everywhere, and is by Andrianna Shamaris. It, too ,was purchased at Manhattan Art and Antiques.
I will admit this was a day where I was feeling a bit sad, and looking pale. I reapplied some make-up half way through, when I checked myself in a mirror! Nothing like a dash of blusher and red lips to brighten your face, and sometimes your mood. ( it worked! My heavenly gloss from Stila was a gift from a dear friend, and it reminded me of her, so that smile that you see is genuine!)
Enjoy this funny, changeable season. Sending love and hugs to all of my readers who have shown such kindness to me!
