This year is off to an interesting start. Right now I am finally publishing the second of 4 posts that were shot in Mexico. Interesting, because I am currently in Santa Monica! I am not used to traveling so much! In Mexico, I was excited to wear this trendy tropical print. Blame in on the palm trees...
I found this two piece set, part of a tropical print collection from a store called Soho. I fell in love with the upbeat tropical print, and I am always drawn to blues and greens. I so enjoyed being on the beach! ( I would not wear this unless I was at a beach setting.) Here is another shot.
I really enjoyed getting out of New York and leaving behind those frigid temps! It has been so long since hubby and I have traveled. Folks my age can relate to caring for ailing and dying parents. I certainly hope my younger readers do not know of this particular heartache. I lost both parents and a brother in the last three, difficult and bittersweet years. This detail has not been added to pull at your heart-strings, only to add some context to how wonderful it was, is, I should say, to feel free to travel.
It is intrinsically pleasurable to find oneself in such a splendidly natural place; how wonderful and healing it was to be in Mexico. Plus, our daughter came along! She is 24, so we don't presume she will want to join us when we travel, but to our true and deep delight, she wanted to come!
I took a patent pleather ( I still delight in that silly tongue twister, but I am easily amused it seems) clutch to the beach to hold my room key and sunglasses. It fit well in the tote the hotel provided. You can see it in this close up which also provides a better photo of the tropical print and a green ring purchased at STA in NY, NY.
Later, I layered a sleeveless print from the same collection . I felt comfortable in this when we left the beach for an outdoor restaurant on the premises that served delicious Asian Fusion food. The layered ensemble looked like this:
Here is a shot of the outdoors restaurant. It felt almost organic, like it was carved into the outdoor setting, that sported, I should mention, three contiguous and resplendent infinity pools over-looking the ocean. Such a lovely place!
Here is a shot of the ocean from our terrace. What a lovely image to wake to. It was also dreamy to read at night with the windows open, while the white voile curtains fluttered alongside the terracotta floor, in and out, & in and out , from the ocean breeze. Ahhh...
I hope you are well and happy, dear readers. I know cold and snow awaits me in New York. And that is the reason that I buy lots and lots of outerwear. Wink!
