Hello Lovelies! I am hoping this day finds you well and happy!Today I am posting some pics from Mexico- yes, there are STILL more- and I am featuring my circle skirt in pink, worn snugly, perhaps primly- ?- with a fitted indigo Miu Miu sweater.
This circle skirt from forever 21 is deceptively comfortable. While it is fitted and somewhat stiff, I love the fullness, and the pockets make me feel cozy and casual, despite the ladylike look. I paired it with a pure indigo sweater from Miu Miu that is one of my go-to's, as it looks well with denim, and can even be worn for formal events with the right jewelry. :)
This circle skirt traveled well to Mexico as it is somewhat of a structured jacquard. The peachy pink color of the circle skirt appealed to me, as well as the silhouette. My white belt, with swavoraski crystals came from a store in Mexico. I was so pleased to find it! I would not have thought to buy a white belt, but now that I have it, I am wearing it often.
My calf hair wallet in a leopard pattern was the perfect accessory. It is as large as a clutch, has that yummy tassel, and I do not like to keep my wallet in hotel rooms, even when they are top-notch. Why tempt fate? As well, my circle brooch, a lovely jewel to pair with my circle skirt, was something I wanted to wear, and not leave behind. It is precious to me. Both of these were gifts from dear friends. ( Thanks you two!)
I am wearing a hat and there is no surprise there. I came home with no sun tan, while my hubby looks like he was on island for a month! I found it at the hotel lobby. The pumps, with deep indigo denim and a mock croc patterned leather, felt like it added a nod to causal to this otherwise lady like ensemble.
I love looking back at these photos, all set with sunny yellow skies that most would call blue. I, however, could only see the yellow, having been staring into gray skies in New York. I have worn this circle skirt since I have come home, too. I paired it with a Chanel cardigan and wore suede boots; it transitioned from summer weather to winter weather perfectly. Sigh, now if only I could do that...
I know the details are hard to see from these photos. I took some additional photos when I got home, so you could see the details better. The photos were taken too late in the day, I kept forgetting that it was winter in Mexico, and misjudged when the golden hour was. It certainly did not feel like winter! You can see the details below.
Have you worn a circle skirt this season? I love mine, but am wondering. Do you wear it for day, or for evening events? How do you style it? I am also enjoying wearing pastel this season, it helps me think of pink, lavender, and yellow- those ribbons of colors in the sunny sky of Mexico, as it sets sweetly, landing- for all I can see- deep into the ocean.
