I apologize that the photos are grainy, as the sun was thready that day. I was tempted to do it over, with my new make up artist, Shelly and Erika to help. But that seemed silly. I am wearing a fun Etro skirt, that is done in a classic glen plaid, but then flounced with a leo patterned silk chiffon. My simple CHANEL sweater is cream and has a waffle texture. It is lined in silk, adding an extra little layer which I appreciated on the cold day. I topped the outfit off with a plaid cap.
The plaid cap is made by Gabriella Frattini, a designer I had never of, and one I now have come to really like. The plaid cap is made well and boasts a nubby wool plaid top with a velvet cap- a darling combo in my book, and one that typifies this designer's talent in using patterns. Therefore I am leaving a link, AND they are having a sale.
I anchored all of this pattern mixing with my black coat by Dolce and Gabbana. As you know it is lined in a leo pattern that mixes well when I walk, and when it is exposed. My CHANEL boots are suede, so I do not wear them often in Manhattan as suede does not wear well, but these are still in great shape, and the heel is not too high.
Here is another look, this photo is less grainy, but the pose is not my fav. You can see my plaid cap well here, at least. And the pattern of the skirt is clearer here, too.
I am wearing my black box bag by Mark Cross. I have not worn it in some time, and I like it's simple, architectural shape. I bought this At STA about 3 years ago, and I continue to love it. My oversized cameo was purchased many years ago at Loehman's, a high-end discount designer store that is now sadly closed except for online sales. The oversized locket is one I am seeing often in high-end costume designers like Lanvin.
Here is another look in Black and White, which offers another perspective:
Because the details did not come out as well as I had hoped I am adding this collage of most of what I was wearing. I did this inside, with reliable light!
A cap has a sporty look that I do not often wear, but this plaid cap was something I wanted when I found it at STA on Madison Avenue. You will see it again, soon. Do you wear caps, or do you consider them only sporting gear? If you wear a cap would it be a simple one, or an embellished one? Would you wear it with a skirt, or only with denim and active wear? Let me know in the comment section.
