This was a wonderful outfit to style. The fringe skirt is by Bluemarine. The peachy pink color and nubby skirt has been made doubly cool with the loopy fringe. Since textures complete an outfit, I did not stop there. I added a faux fur vest by Live a Little, that is reversible. I wore it with the suede side in, and the fur out. It kept me quite warm! Even as I was outside on the rooftop deck!
My pointelle fingerless gloves and matching beret added texture and a bit of warmth. My coat is from an upscale children's store on Madison Avenue called Rachel Riley London, and is an award-winning UK fashion brand. I adore the maraschino cherry color and the crushed velvet fabric that resembles Persian lamb.
My little drawstring bag is by Moschino, and is part pouch, part bucket-bag. This shade of red was perfect for this outfit. My nail color is named well, it is dazzling by Chanel. It is a perfect shade of red, not too orange and not too blue. I found this bag at Michael's consignment store on Madison Avenue in Manhattan. My belt is cream leather by Brunello Cucinelli, also purchased at Michael's. Michael's only carries the finest brands and all merchandise is current within two years, and often completely new!
I found my embossed pumps in East Hampton at LVIS. I am delighted to say they cost me $8.00! I was enchanted by the heel treatment, the vivid, red, and the shine of the patent leather, scalloped in the back.
Now, a funny thing happened on the rooftop. Hazards of the trade, I suppose. I was just standing there in my many shades of pinks and reds when I heard a mild rumbling sound. I looked up.
And then this happened. Oh MY!
That got me smiling! Sometimes it is the simplest things that can bring about joy. And here I thought I did not like surprises! I guess I do.
I enjoyed combining all of these elements. I did try to demonstrate that textures complete an outfit. I even added another layered element because sometimes, my creative self will just not stop!
Do you agree that textures complete an outfit? How do you choose your details? I want to thank Erika Arias for styling assistance and photos, and also my equally wonderful hair stylist and make-up artist, Aracely Garcia. We had a lot of fun on the snowy rooftop terrace!
I wish you a wonderful week. It is sunny and warm somewhere, right?
