It was way too long. Too much time elasped since seeing my old friends, a college bestie and and former clients who feel as close as family. I hopped a plane and flew South. Hello Atlanta; how many ways can save I love you!
By the way, dear readers, hello! Has Spring sprung? It is almost here in Manhattan, but it was definitely alive and well in verdant greens in Atlanta, Georgia. Flowers, real ones, not just facsimiles painted on tee shirts, were just everywhere. The weather was mostly rainy, but one day the sun shone and it was golden and magnificent .
Too honor such magnificence I wore a tuxedo jacket. Okay, that is complete and utter bull . I wore it because I wanted to. I planned to wear my tuxedo jacket with jeans, but along came these cigarette pants from H&M with this small foulard, that looks like polka dot, and that won me over. You see, I did not see a single sight in Atlanta, but did get some shopping done at the mall near my hotel. But mostly, I spent my time with my friends, at their homes.
Let me tell you shopping at H&M is a pleasure when one is out of Manhattan! The music is half as loud and the crowds are twice as small...a true pleasure. The same can be said about with shopping at Forever 21 and Macy's. I enjoyed Dillard's too.
The tee I am wearing is one of the few graphic tee's I own. Ironically , it reads, " I have Nothing to Wear". Those of you who follow me that is um, ironic? It is from 9thElm.com and seems to be sold out unfortunately , but the link can take you to some great alternatives. I love wearing it under my tuxedo jacket ,which is by Sisley, made in Italy, and was picked up with the matching tuxedo pants at Michael's Consignment Shop. My patent cap-toe pumps, with a comfy round toe are Cole Haan and are old. My kelly bag will be addressed in a future post.
I did manage to get some lovely shots of the foliage around my Hotel. I am so happy to share them with you, sunshine and all! The first looks like a park, and eerily like my front yard when I lived in suburban New York.
Separating my room at the lovely and new Hyatt was this pretty lace panel. I do appreciate when someone thinks of all of the details!
Just before leaving this charmed city I had a hotel valet take this photo. Not my favorite look. But here it is anyway, composed of the only flat shoes I packed, with my comfiest jeans, and a new hoodie from the Gap to protect from the drizzle. But there is no denying my happy smile, as I am sitting on a flower bed- okay it is curbside- and the shining sun feels splendid.
So now we must address the sunglasses ( Bluefly.com) from the very first photo. Can you remember them? If your eyes are rolling to the back of your head, I see your affirmative answer. BUT I HAD TO! I did indeed feel like I had hearts in my eyes, and rainbows! And so it was.
Now what do you think about wearing a tuxedo jacket with jeans or casual pants like these. Would you dress up your denim with a tuxedo jacket?
To good friends, old and new, you have my <3.
