My outfit is a mix of prep, athletic, and retro. My pink capris, called twin-set denim by Yoox, who is the maker of the pair that is most similar to mine, seems to beckon for a fuchsia or yellow twin set in cashmere and white kidskin loafers.
Did I wear it that way? Um, no. Instead I added my new sneaks from Modell's and a preppy J. Crew type print from Liz Claiborne. My bag is vintage Fendi, in blue denim. I guess you can call this look denim on denim, in a pinch. I will simply call it eclectic, and just want I wanted to wear that day. I do love this authentic Fendi Baguette ! ( it is so light!)
The few days in the Hamptons were lovely. It is not crowded yet, but will be very crowded come Memorial Day, which is almost here! At the Old Stone Pub , a Hampton's mainstay that has survived a myriad of trends, it remains an old farmhouse with wraparound porches. The prices are reasonable sometimes, but the steaks get pricey.( $80 for steak for 2- yes, we are in the Hamptons after all). Soon outside of the window you will see nothing but fancy cars, but today here is my view:
The night ended with cocktails with friends and this amazing sunset. With the ocean 3 short blocks away, the colors take on a deeper spectrum of breathtaking. Yes, colors like this do exist in nature!!!
Maybe that is why I choose the brightest and most comfortable little capris in my closet, to keep that scene lively in my mind. When editing it, though, I wanted to take way the color, just to see it, and it reminds me that this will look great with my white jeans, which unfortunately I left in East Hampton! Ah these tulips!!
Back in the city there is beauty after all! Here on my roof deck, or the co-ops roof deck of which I am part- this is NOT all mine:
Back in the city for dinner at Rouge NYC, to see my lovely daughter!:
It is a wonderful privilege to go to the beach, and to be able to avoid the crowds. It is also wonderful to be based in Manhattan; truly the best of both worlds. So it would be ungrateful, terribly rude, and ridiculous to complain...But, boy oh my, do I have trouble with my wardrobe, and household staples.
I am organized, but there is always something in one house that should be in the other. I open my pantry for paper towels. I just bought a cart-full! But there are none... Oops, wrong house. I go for my trusty gauze skirt, and remember ( Ergh!) that it is also in the wrong closet.. Fortunately my closets are, um, pretty generous, so I have similar one that will substitute just fine.
How stupid I feel when I open the wrong drawer for silverware, momentarily confused in my own home. And oh S*it, darn it! I am down to one pair of underwear... and if I forget my medicine, that is truly a problem... Early onset much?
Now, after this ludicrous belly-aching, I have found a place for you to get this Vintage Fendi Baguette, if you re so inclined. This site guarantees authenticity.
It is wonderful to be in a place that has it all: country beauty and city offerings such a great restaurants, theatre, book stores on a tree lined street...that IS perfection. Hubby's job makes it so we must live here...and I am not complaining, but sometimes here and there, and here and there, again, and again, makes me just want to stay in one place ( and be a better list maker!)
