Hello Loves! I wanted to get a post in before we all disperse early for the long weekend in the US. I am featuring these candid shots of me waiting for the train: for my daughter's arrival into East Hampton.
Waiting at the station..
With the workday wind a' blowin I've got nothing to do...
Did I really say Nothing to DO? Eh, not quite right! I have a lot to do! But the trains is 8 minutes late, a window of time just large enough for me to ask a nice stranger at the train, to get a snap or two. Candid shots for a blog post? Why not? So here I stand in the shade, the sun mid-day strong, promising to make my blonde hair disappear into the light- so I am gingerly in the shade and shadows for these candid shots!
A detail of the dress I am wearing. It is from Around Again, a favorite resale shop in Sag Harbor. It has no label, but seems custom made? No tags inside at all, and a thoughful lining of the sleeve in a lavender sateen. This print reminds me a a wallpaper print from Liberty of London.
Because these are candid shots, I did not get a chance to smooth down the dress, and rearrange anything. I promise, the dress does fit and lies nice and flat in general! Perhaps after rushing to the train, the fabric bunched up! Oh well, candid shots! My fab bag is by Sonia Rykiel!
My shoes are by Earthies via Zulily.com. I love this brand. The heel cup is cushioning and the are made so one does not slip. There is solid arch support, and I think a nice looking shoe! I love this soft lavender color, and the nice straw detail. If you like these, check these out!
So my daughter does arrive exactly eight minutes later! We are off to my sister's for dinner! She, unlike I, can cook!
We get to enjoy the above view while we dine on this!
The food is delish, of course! BTW, has anyone ever tried fresh pineapple that has been grilled? Can we say AH-mazing! I know I can! The few sips of Rose was lovely, too!
Back home we sit outside ( waiting while our pup does her thing ) and catch up a bit. The sun is starting to set. The air is fresh, and there is a heavenly breeze.
Closing with a shot of the flowering bush that I cropped out of one of the candid shots!
and, of course, a closing rendering.... Happy Weekend, and belated summer solstice ! Happy almost- Fourth of July- to my US followers!
