Hello Loves! Walk with me! I am wearing shorts from Maiyet, which is a wonderful label that is luxuriously crafted and wearable. I combined them with a Dries Van Noten blouse and a skinny scarf!
The top came from Michael's consignment shop two years ago and I love wearing it with just about everything! I had fun pattern mixing with this particular outfit. The plaid and the chevron technically should not "work", but it falls, I hope, in the "it's so wrong its right" camp. I am certainly wearing it as such.
I added a skinny scarf, that is a tie from a dress. I love the skinny scarf as a simple, almost men's tie look, and it is hard to find. So I improvised! I secured it with a brooch, that I will one day provide a close up shot of. Patience is a virtue, right?
More shots of my pattern mixing fest! Sumptuous materials and high-end finishing certainly do not hurt.
The shorts were made to sell for $600, or a few bucks short of that. I truly think they are worth that. BUT, I was pleased to find these at resale for $50.00, new with tags! They are still big for me, even with alterations, so I have to add that cost in! Back they go to the tailor! The link I provided is of the same shorts for less that 2/3 off, but only the smallest size is left. Otherwise, these shorts have sold out. I hope one of you is that lucky size!
I adore pattern mixing, as you well know. The back of the top is another pattern, a bold, black and white plaid, and the second layer is a sheer camouflage print that is hard to discern, due to its transparency. The metallic plaid almost acts as a silver neutral, so that the patterns do not fight one another. The bold black tie, is the element that your eye goes to. And then it hopefully finds the very cool brooch and settles, happily there. Magpie, much? I love vintage jewelry, and this piece is a keeper.
I enjoyed the sun on this day, but the sheer strength of it made hard work of editing these photos. My outfit is finished with dainty silver sandals, that also deserve a better look. The are silver metallic leather with a square rhinestone buckle crossing the T strap. I got them at a thrift shop! You will see them soon.
So have you seen enough pattern mixing? ;) Here are the final shots of this outfit! Have a wonderful week ahead, my lovelies!
