It's not all glitz and celeb sighting in East Hampton. Like most things in life, it is what you make of it. I hope to relate the quiet side of the Hamptons; to see it only one-sided, is missing out. I am outside with the giant trees going to dinner soon.
I am wearing a striped tee that I thrifted at LVIS. My soft plaid shirt, was my son's, left in his closet... I was going to shop online for a similar shirt when it occurred to me to explores my son's room. Voila! You have seen my denim capris before. I cuffed them to give them a proper fit. OK, I am wearing my Hermes Birkin, but it will stay in the trunk. I am not worried about theft where we are going, I am worried about bugs and ants deciding to crawl in and hang out in it, as we are eating outside tonight, at a favorite restaurant known as the Clam Bar, pictured below. Their seafood is so fresh and I love the relaxed dining style.
We always eat lobster rolls and fresh corn! It is so good! It is located on a quieter stretch on the main highway ( 27) and has a beachy feel. Perfect for families.
Back to my ordinary outfit. I must mention my shoes, because they are so soft I feel as though I am walking on pillows. They are designed by Andrew Stevens, look somewhat like the Tod driving shoe, and have been a godsend to me since my back was hurting. I wear them around the house, and every where I can. You know I prefer heels, but since I have been wearing these, mostly full-time, I am feeling better! I am getting physical therapy too, but I like to credit these shoes, purchased near me at Cellini bags and shoes, for the improvement in my back pain! Shopping is always the solution, right? ;)
More snaps of my ordinary outfit. ( Ok, the Hermes Birkin makes it special..)
Here is where I also went on this quiet weekend, with just my hubby and two grown up children home. A walk down my unpaved street, where I am usually greeted by deer, and turkey.
A snap of my friend's front porch, where she created an idyllic seating area by hand painting the iron gardens chairs. She sectioned off a small piece near her entry stairs, and made this!
Here is a shot of my house when I am looking up from the lounge chair. ( only 20 minutes a day of sun for me!) I like the perspective.
I will close with a photo from a store that I love in Bridgehampton called The Salty Home. They have an amazing selection of home goods, similar to the HomeGoods stores that is part of TJX. Their prices are great, the selection is hand-picked and they ship anywhere. Gift bags, tissue, ribbons, yes! Soon, I hope you will be able to shop from the FB page! They also carry jewelry that is on trend and priced right! It is heaven to shop there. The pillow comes from there, and it sums of how I feel about the Hamptons.
I mention these places because I like to support local and individually owned shops and businesses; I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own, and will be yours, too, if you get the chance to visit! I hope you had a splendid weekend, wherever you are!
