“Style is like a symphony. Every wardrobe piece is a note, and the rhythm is your essence. Let it play!” By Elle
Shot on the streets of Manhattan, I am wearing an eclectic look defines my style: colorful, creative, and anti-formulaic. I own it. But the best part of the shoot, was when a passerby saw my friend shooting this look, and offered to shoot us together. New Yorkers Rock! I witness, and practice, kindness everyday. That's my style, too. First and Foremost!
I love to celebrate my birthday with my family and friends. It seems I like parties big and small, but most important are the people who make my celebrations special. Today I am in Sag Harbor boarding a sailing catamaran and wearing a nautically inspired outfit, that is punched up with some pom-pom trim and a fresh blue sky in the background! I enjoyed the grand opening of the Midtown East location of Studio 34, a salon that specializes in balayage and ombre hair color . The opening celebration was lavish and fun. I wore a silk tiered halter dress, a mini bag by Coccinelle, and a cuff bracelet via Etsy, made by Swarovski. I love to support small and local! --- Ok, this city blogger is off to the Hamptons for a bit! Happy weekend!
I am wearing a thrifted dress. It was discarded, and then up styled by me for $10.00. The proceeds support shelters for battered women. In this precarious world, it is important to remember that we vote with our dollars. I try to shop local, shop small, and up-cycle. True style should include a social contract that brings light into the world.
Wearing a cold-shoulder floral and striped blouse, I went out to a fabulous fashion design exhibit. The talented designers? You will be surprised to know they are high school students at the High School of Art and Design in NYC!
A busy city day in Manhattan has me on the street and wearing ruffled black trousers, pearl trimmed Gucci boots, and a vintage Gucci bag, I added a metallic and lace sweatshirt . Am I the only one who is a bit tired of the cold shoulder look? Its a cute trend, but I though I would offer a less formulaic look today! Happy mid-week
Summer is a time for celebrations! In the Hamptons, this generally means a party at a friend's home or a lobster dinner at the beach . But this was a very special event, and I wore a beaded maxi, my version of a LBD. I added depth and detail with oodles of fringe; cocktail attire with a little bit of attitude! I hope you are enjoying your summer celebrations!
THE MAXI DRESS this season is a versatile staple as well as a fashion statement . Whether in lace, as mine is, as featured, or in a tribal print, floral, or stripe, let this GO ANYWHERE dress- let you do just that!
Add a kimono for a cool second layer, or a hooded cardi for the beach! Style with flip flops, espradrilles, or cool booties for a bit of urban edge.
A summer outfit that is both eclectic and electric : a red full skirt with soutache embroidery , a striped tee, and some Asian floral platforms have me on high alert for summer fun!
Ah, Summer in the city! (and weekends in the Hamptons! )
This outfit is even sweeter, as much of it is second hand!
The Fourth of July Holiday is here and I am feeling both festive and ambivalent. It is hard to be a fashionista, and a conscientious citizen at the same time. SOooo, I wore red, white, blue and black.
How about you? Did you dress in the nation's colors for the Fourth?
