This was taken last week and I am glad. Today we got 6 inches of snow. March is not behaving politely and according to Mother Nature's well defined rules. Oh well, we deal, February is past us. I am wearing a boucle jacket that is perfect for all seasons. It is made by Louise Kennedy, an Irish Brand that specializes in luxurious fabrics, high-low dressing, and versatile modern looks. Louise Kennedy has been called the "uncrowned queen of Irish Fashion".
This jacket is in a yummy boucle and is crafted in a season-spanning combo of wool, silk, and cotton. I love the boucle texture and its light feel. Made to sell for about 900 USD, I bought it for 40 USD, instead. It appears unworn, its beautiful lavender silk lining pristine, as are all of the other details. I purchased this at a thrift store in East Hampton.
Here is a close up of the jacket, as well as better view of my embossed velvet bag by Bottega Veneta. I love the braided leather strap and rich indigo color. I bought it at Michael's consignment store on Madison Avenue this month. (you can shop the store, with the link!). I saved well over $1000.! It is pre-owned, but like everything at Michael's it looks like new, even inside!
I love this bag, it is different that their usual signature bags, which feature their signature braided leather, ( intrecciato) and tend to be too big for me! My trousers jeans are Paige denim. You can see the color is the perfect mid blue denim. My rhinestone C belt was found in an outdoor shop on the Santa Monica pier. It fits my small waist and dresses up my trouser jeans.
So what are exactly trouser jeans? My best guess is anything other than a boyfriend jean, or skinny jean. They are generally flared. They are not distressed, so they can be worn in a business like fashion and, like the other jeans mentioned, can be dressed up with polished details, like a pointy pump, mine by Vince Camuto, and a jacket. Of course you can also wear a trouser jean and be perfectly casual too; pair it with a tee-shirt, a cashmere cardi, and pointy ballet flats.
Under my boucle jacket is a silk jersey, mock-turtleneck in a divine abstract print by A.B.S. You can see it with my denim from some shots taken indoors earlier than day. I am also carrying a small python clutch with genuine faceted rose quartz gems that make up the closure. I also purchased this at Michael's. I will be sure to show a better picture of it sometime soon.
Back to the rooftop deck where the sun was waning ( but at least it did show up!) and I am trying to stay warm. It will start to warm up this week, and when the snow melts, I just may believe it! Soon enough, there will be plants and flowers just where I am standing!
Do you like trouser jeans? Have you found a pair or brand that you love? I also bought a pair of jeans with a more exaggerated flare. I will wear those soon. When the snow melts, I will have them shortened. When the snow melts, I shall do a great many things!
