I am steeped in melancholy as summer officially closes. I cherish the long summer days, and family time spent all together. I chose this outfit while in a lively state, readying for a big dinner, and I wore a flutter sleeve top. As summer flutters by, I am going to savor each minute.
I like this outfit because it is an unexpected combination. The dots and stripes are busy, but orderly. The skirt has pockets, so it is a favorite. I added a gray flutter sleeve top because I wanted both a solid color and a neutral one. I chose the flutter sleeve top because it moves so deliciously in the perfect summer breeze. ( Too bad these were not done on the beach!)
I added rings the color of the ocean, (sigh) an emerald ring hubby bought me for a big anniversary years ago, and my new one from the Peacock Throne. I wore this outfit with two different pair of boots; one that it think has more drama, and height :) and one that is comfortable. Guess which one I chose?
This sun was bright. I chose my spot with care. I have had my share of photos where the sun's streaky imprints wreaked havoc with my face or outfit. Below are some close-ups, as well as an unexpected pattern, that I cropped out of one of the shots, and rotated. It is a cool shot, but how much pattern play and distortion from the sun! I missed all that while being photographed carefully in the shade. Thanks hubby!
I like the drape of the flutter sleeve top, and while I bought it last year, it is still available here. I bought my perforated buckle boots near me recently, but they are sold out. No worries, you can find a similar pair here.
To those still wondering, I choose the first option. Comfort first! A flutter sleeve top that moves with you, a skirt that skims the body just right, and has pockets!, boots with comfort soles and relatively flat heels. Hard enough to say goodbye to summer, so I chose my most comfortable, yet festive looking outfit.
I am off to pack my suitcase. Back to the concrete ( lipstick?) jungle I go... soon.... soonish.. eventually... okay after a glass of wine...When the deck is completely shrouded in shade, then I will go.
Tell me about your comfiest outfit, and anything with denim does not count - these are festive days!
